Aim of the Department
- The selection, acceptance, routine calibration and quality controls of the radiation devices used in the medical field. Training and consultancy services given to nuclear medicine, diagnostic radiology and radiotherapy departments for efficient use of software and hardware.
- Provide training courses for all level users working with ionizing radiation. Organization of training programs with national and international organizations.
- Making the environmental radiation measurements for all kinds of food, industrial products and raw materials.
- Establishment of a testing laboratory to measure and control the technical parameters of the devices used in Nuclear Medicine and Environmental Radiation according to the EU (and some other international organizations) criteria. Provide research, consultancy and services on these issues.
- Perform scientific research on medical imaging and dosimetry, environmental radiation measurements, retrospective dosimetry, radiation protection and related subjects. Carry out national and international projects within this context.
- Clarify the society about medical radiation practices and conservation issues.

a) Medical Physics Doctorate Program (Turkish)
Aim of the Program
The aim or the program to educate professional medical physicists who has a grasp of the effects of radiation on human health and environment, knows and implies the principles of radiation safety and radiation protection and shielding and trains people about these topics, uses radiation in field of medicine and environmental practices safely.
b) Health Physics Master Degree Program (Turkish)

The aim or the program to educate professionals, who has a grasp of the effects of radiation on human health and environment, knows and implies the principles of radiation safety and radiation protection and trains people about these topics, uses radiation in field of medicine and environmental practices safely.
c) Health Physics Master Degree Program (English)
